ABOUT THIS SHOW

JEWISH COMEDY NIGHT! is a celebration of Jewish culture that's open to everyone. The Jewish Comedy Project is bringing the best of their comedy sketches, songs and stories to Steppenwolf for the first time ever! This wild night of laughs feels like a whole bunch of holidays wrapped up in one.

About The Jewish Comedy Project:

The Jewish Comedy Project has built a huge sense of community in the comedy hub of Chicago. JEWISH COMEDY NIGHT! combines the best of the best from our two Hanukkah Shows, a Passover Show, and a Purim Show, all packed into one fast-paced, high-energy performance! After a successful debut of our first Hanukkah Comedy Show at the Annoyance Theater in 2022, The JCP moved to the iO Theater for another great run in 2023!

With original characters like "James Bondstein" and "Dan Candles" (the self-proclaimed hero of Hanukkah) these sketches add an element of magic and whimsy to the experience of being Jewish. And with themes that are relatable to everyone like awkward family dinners and tween-age crushes, JCP shows are enjoyed by folks of all backgrounds! One of our most popular sketches is a 3-Minute Bar Mitzvah where one lucky audience member gets to experience an action-packed simulation of the entire Bar Mitzvah experience as fast as humanly possible.

The nine members of the all-Jewish cast bring a diverse variety of stories to the stage, but all of them are experienced, highly sought-after performers in the Chicago comedy community in venues like Second City, iO and the Annoyance Theater.
